And why I use them.

Supplements. Why do we need them?

Well, unfortunately our food does not have the intended nutrients that God originally designed for it to have anymore. Our soils have been greatly depleted thanks to modern agriculture and all the pesticides and toxins. Tilling, mono crops, and the use of chemicals is destroying our soil composition and the nutrients that are supposed to be there. Thus our food does not contain the amount of nutrients it used to. Plus when we don’t buy locally, and shop at the store the food loses its nutritional value each day it sits on the shelf.

Thus we do supplement along with our whole food diet. We don’t use tons of supplements but there are a few brands I know and trust and use for my family.

Does it matter what we place in our body? Yes. Indeed it does. It is part of being a good steward of what God has given us. Our bodies are not our own but are His. We need to steward them well. In Proverbs the woman sees well to the ways of her household. I believe nourishing our family physically is part of looking well to the ways of our household.

What we consume physically greatly affects us. It will either help heal us or destroy us.

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Our blood sugar greatly affects our moods. If it drops too low, it is a great stress on our body. We get easily irritated. Jittery. More prone to lose self control.

Food or the lack thereof can have a negative affect on our brains and nervous system. Some children can completely fall apart after ingesting certain dyes or ingredients.

Thus I truly believe that what goes into our bodies can cause us to stumble or sin.

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
